Cold Plunges and Greek Garden Inspiration!
So I dunked myself into a tub full of ice water last weekend.
On purpose.
Not because I lost a bet, but because apparently cold plunges are the hot new thing, especially in Sacramento, where summer feels like someone left the oven on and walked away.
At first, I lasted about 45 seconds. My legs forgot they existed. My brain started screaming. Then, somewhere around the one-minute mark, I felt this weird wave of calm clarity. Like someone hit reset on my nervous system.
I walked out shivering, borderline hypothermic… and completely hooked.
That little experiment sent me down the rabbit hole. Do cold plunges actually work? Are they worth the hype? Should you pay for a studio, or just toss ice bags in your bathtub and pray? Turns out, there’s science behind it. And surprisingly, some really smart ways to do it safely (and cheaply) right here in Sacramento!
This week’s newsletter is all about that glorious shock to the system—and why you might want to give it a shot this summer.
Even if you hate cold water. Even if your idea of recovery is laying on the couch with a Costco fan blowing at max speed.
Trust me: one good plunge and you’ll feel like you can take on anything. Or at least survive the Summer.

Got One of Those “We Buy Houses!” Letters?
You know the kind:
“Fast Cash!”
“No Repairs!”
“Close in 7 Days!”
They’re showing up everywhere in Sacramento — especially in neighborhoods like Oak Park, Tahoe Park, and Curtis Park.
Here’s the thing though:
Some of these buyers are legit.
But, Most are offering 25–40% less than your home is worth.
If you’re curious about a cash offer, don’t just call the postcard number.
Get a real valuation. Know your options. Talk to someone who’s not trying to flip your house before even buying it (yes, that’s a thing).
Cold Plunges in Sacramento Summers: Worth It or Just Chill Hype?
I’ll be honest: when I first heard about cold plunges, I thought it was peak Silicon Valley nonsense. People paying to dunk themselves in ice water? Please.
Then Sacramento summer hit. Heat bells started ringing in May and by June it was like breathing through a wet sock. That’s when I gave a cold plunge a real try—and, plot twist, it actually worked.
Here’s the full scoop: why cold plunges make sense in Sacramento, the science behind them, how to do them safely (sans dumb injuries), where to go local, and whether your body—and budget—is ready for the chill.
